Please read below to find out about Meet the Teacher and our first day of school procedures.

Greetings WCE Families,

I am excited to announce that our fabulous Teachers and Staff have been hard at work preparing for an amazing kick-off to our 2022-2023 school year. Please mark your calendars for "Meet the Teacher" on Tuesday, Aug. 16th from 5:30-6:30. This will be your opportunity to meet your child's teacher and see their classrooms. Please try and bring all of their school supplies that evening. For safety and security reasons, we will not be allowing parents to enter the building on the first day of school . As much as we all wish this wasn't necessary, we simply must increase our safety and security measures to ensure the safety of our students and staff. However, we want you to start off the year on the right foot, with a great visit with your child's teacher, and we want you to have the opportunity to see the beautiful classrooms where your children will be learning this year. So, please be sure to attend Meet the Teacher on Tuesday, Aug. 16th from 5:30-6:30.

The first day of school will be Thursday, August 18th, 2022. The doors open each day at 7:45 AM, and instruction begins promptly at 8:10 AM. Students are considered tardy after 8:10 AM. We dismiss at 3:50 PM. For Car Rider drop off, only Kinder, First grade, and Life Skills students may be dropped off in the back (Dance Drive) drop off, but any and all students may be dropped off in the front (Gray Street) drop off. For car rider pick up, all Second-Fifth grade students will be picked up in the front (Gray St.) car rider line and all Kinder and First Grade students will be picked up in the back (Dance St.) car rider line. If you have children in K-1 and 2-5, the older siblings will pick up their younger siblings and walk them to the front (Gray St.) car rider line. This is a new procedure. To clarify, K-1 students with older siblings will be picked up in the FRONT car rider line (Gray St.).

Lastly, if you have not completed the online registration, please do so BEFORE Meet the Teacher. Online registration is required for all students (new or returning) each year. You will receive your child's teacher and homeroom placement only after your registration has been completed .
