Dear WCE Families,
Happy New Year! We look forward to receiving your students back at school tomorrow. As we prepare for our first week back, I wanted to let you know that our Wildcatter Extravaganza ceremony is happening this week on Friday, January 6th, 2023. After working through our new security procedures at the first ceremony, we have learned a few things. As a result we will be adjusting our procedures a bit. Parents are welcome to attend the Wildcatter Extravaganza, but we will need to limit the number of visitors per child to only two. We also will not be able to accommodate lunch visitors on the same day as the Award Ceremony, so please plan accordingly. Again, we will not be allowing lunch visitors on Friday, January 6th, 2023, as all available personnel will be diverted to manage the Wildcatter Extravaganza visitors on campus. Please DO NOT FORGET TO CALL AHEAD AND RSVP for this event (979.799.1760). This will significantly cut down in your wait time in line.
Please remember when attending the award ceremony that you are allowed access to the gym only, not the cafeteria or grade level hallways. In addition, please do not check your child out early from school. We had over 150 students checked out early after our last ceremony, leaving many classes with low numbers, which impedes our instructional processes. Fridays are often times when students are taking critical formative assessments or learning new information that has to be retaught or reassessed later. We encourage you to prioritize their time in class and leave them at school the remainder of the day. Thank you for the incredible support you provide WCE and our students. It is absolutely the best community on the planet in which to serve.
The Wildcatter Extravaganza Times are listed below:
8:30 2nd grade
9:15 3rd grade
10:00 5th grade
10:45 1st grade
11:30 4th grade
Thank you,
Roxana Bolton, Principal
